Climate:
Frankfurt in late October transitions fully into autumn, offering crisp air, colourful foliage, and cooler temperatures. Here’s a more detailed overview of what to expect:
- Temperature: Average daytime highs range between 12°C and 15°C (54°F to 59°F), while evenings and early mornings typically drop to 6°C to 8°C (43°F to 46°F). A warm sweater or light coat is recommended, especially after sunset.
- Rainfall: October is one of Frankfurt’s wetter months, with around 55–65 mm (2.1–2.5 inches) of rainfall, usually spread across 12–14 days of the month. Rain tends to come as light showers or drizzle, so carrying a compact umbrella or waterproof jacket is useful.
- Sunshine: Expect 3–4 hours of sunshine per day, with a mix of cloudy, partly cloudy, and occasional sunny breaks. Days are noticeably shorter, and sunset is typically just after 6 PM.
Overall, late October is a charming time to experience Frankfurt—cool, cozy autumn weather, vibrant fall colors along the Main River, and a relaxed urban atmosphere before winter settles in.
